The Area Committee Manager invited nominations for election to the position of Chair of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund. 

Decision:

Councillor Kelly nominated Councillor Armour, this was seconded by Councillor Colville. 

Councillor Armour was therefore confirmed as the Chair of the Common Good Fund and took the Chair for the remainder of the meeting. 

There were no apologies for absence intimated. 

There were no declarations of interest intimated. 

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the period. 

Decision:

Members agreed:

1.    to note the statement and balance of income available; and

2.    requested that the Accountant be invited to a future meeting of the Fund to provide clarification on a number of queries relating to the balance sheet.

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown Former Pupils AFC. 

Decision:

Members agreed to award the group £5,000.00, only to be drawn down upon receipt of the necessary planning and land permission.   

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Food Bank. 

Decision:

Members agreed to award the group £1,872.00.

At 1.58pm, the Chair ruled, and the Trustees agreed, to adjourn, to allow the meeting of the Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands Area Committee to take place and to reconvene at the conclusion of the Area Committee meeting. 

The meeting reconvened at 3.38pm, with all Members present as per the sederunt.

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Youth Café. 

Decision:

Members agreed to award the group £2,500.00, only to be drawn down, upon receipt of a copy of the group’s independently examined accounts. 

Members gave consideration to the application from Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association. 

Decision:

Members agreed to award the group £6,000.00.

South Kintyre Development Trust

Members noted the thank you letters. 

Councillor Kelly advised that he had been approached by Burcote Wind, who were interested in meeting Trustees to discuss potential investment opportunities for the fund.  The Area Committee Manager agreed to take this matter forward with the Council’s Head of Strategic Finance and Head of Governance and Law. 

The next meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund will take place on Wednesday 21 September 2017.
