Members gave consideration to the draft accounts for the year to 31 March, 2014.

 

Disucussion followed in regards the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association and  Members requested verification if a payment had been made to this organisation for the previous financial.  No notification was detailed in the draft accounts.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed:-

 

1.                  To note the accounts

2.                  That the Area Governance Officer would ascertain and provide the detail of any payment which had been awarded to the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association in the previous financial year.

Financial Statement - Accountant

Minutes:

Members considered a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the period.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to note the statement and noted the balance of income available.

COMMON GOOD APPLICATIONS (NEW)

Mull of Kintyre - Music and Arts Festival 2014

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £5000.

Kintyre Coastal Rowing Club

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Kintyre Coastal Rowing Club.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed that consideration of this application would continue to the next meeting which was scheduled for September 2014.  In the meantime, contact would be made with the group to establish the benefits to the local community and clarify if the group had submitted applications to other funding avenues.

University of the Third Age Ladies Choir

Minutes:

Members were advised that the application from the University of the Third Age Ladies Choir had been withdrawn.

 

Decision

 

Members noted this update.

Friends of Campbeltown Museum

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Friends of Campbeltown Museum.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed that this application would also be continued to the September meeting for further review.  In the interim period, the Area Governance officer would liaise with the Head of Community and Culture to verify if there was the potential for funding to be apportioned towards maintenance and renovation costs at the Museum.

Kintyre Amenity Trust

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Kintyre Amenity Trust.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to defer consideration of this application to the September meeting.  Contact would be made with the group to establish if the remedial works had been completed at the car park.

Kintyre and Argyll Events

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Kintyre and Argyll Events.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to underwrite any loss, up to a maximum of £3500, which was sustained by the group after the forthcoming Mach 1 Stages rally with the said funds coming from the deposit account.

 

Detailed accounts following the event must be provided for Members perusal prior to any funding being released.

Members gave consideration to the application from the Dalintober Beach Restoration Group.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £500.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Campbeltown Community Business Ltd.

Members agreed to award the group £1000.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Drumlemble Primary School.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the school £200.

Any other Business

Minutes:

Councillor Kelly highlighted the detrimental state of the Memorial Garden in Campbeltown.  He drew attention to the trees which were overshadowing the flower beds and the dead grass throughout.

 

Discussion followed and Members agreed that contact would be made with the Area Amenity Services manager to endeavour to enlist support to remediate the issues raised.

Minutes:

Members agreed that the next meeting date would be held to coincide with the next MAKI Area Committee and Community Planning Group meetings.
