The Chair advised that due to the time and some attendees due to attend other meetings scheduled, that the meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund would be adjourned and reconvened at a date to be confirmed.

The meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund was reconvened at 10.30am on Tuesday 9 June 2026 by Microsoft Teams.

There were no apologies for absence.

The Governance Manager advised that the Campbeltown Common Good Fund was inquorate and as such was a consultation meeting. 

The Governance Manager further advised the Trustees that following a decision made by Council at their meeting on Thursday, 19 May 2022, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 Members, and the decisions made would be recorded on that basis.

Councillor John Armour declared a non-financial interest in agenda item 5f (South Kintyre Development Trust), as he is a member of the Development Trust. He advised that he did not consider the connection to be significant and as such would remain in the meeting and take part in discussion and decision on this item.

The Minute of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund meeting held on 4 March 2026 was approved as a correct record.

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following items of business, on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

Members gave consideration to a report providing a summary of the fund’s performance and year end position at 31 March 2026.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from the Forget Me Not Choir.

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the Forget Me Not Choir £1,500.00 to assist with the costs to run the Campbeltown choir for another year, print booklets, refreshments and travel to gigs throughout the year.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from The GRAB Trust.

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award The GRAB Trust £1,500 to assist with costs to design, print and distribute recycling information leaflets to all households in Campbeltown.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association.

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award the Mull of Kintyre Music and Arts Association £6,000 to assist with the costs of running the annual Mull of Kintyre Music Festival in 2026.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from Campbeltown Brass Band.

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award Campbeltown Brass Band £1,500 to assist with costs for band members attending the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

The Trustees gave consideration to an application from South Kintyre Sports Council.

Decision

The Campbeltown Common Good Fund agreed to award South Kintyre Sports £1,500 to assist with the costs of insurance for their new mini bus.
