The Chair welcomed Councillor Kelly to her first meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund, and advised that he hoped that she would enjoy the opportunity that the Fund provides to bring benefit to the local community.

Apologies

Minutes:

Apologies were received on behalf of Councillor Tommy MacPherson.

 

Having noted the absence of Councillor MacPherson, the Governance Manager advised that the Campbeltown Common Good Fund was inquorate and as such was a consultation meeting. 

 

The Governance Manager further advised the remaining Trustees that following a decision made by Council at their meeting on Thursday, 19 May 2022, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 Members, and the decisions made are recorded on that basis.

Minutes:

The Minute of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund, held on 6 September 2023, was approved as a correct record.

The Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following items of business, on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

Campbeltown Common Good Fund - Financial Statement

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the period.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to note the statement and balance of income available.

Campbeltown Old Pals Club

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown Old Pals Club.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £500.00 to assist with the purchase of a laptop.

Kintyre District Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA)

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre District Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA).

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £1,500.00 to assist with the costs of hiring facilities, namely the hall and lighting for the annual drama festival.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Kintyre Amenity Trust.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £2,500.00 to assist towards the costs of replacing bathroom facilities in the Bunkhouse.

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association. 

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £3,000.00 to assist with the purchasing of tracksuits for all players at the Association.

Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown Grammar School Parent Council. 

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £2,280.00 to assist with the costs of a Paris trip for 16 pupils and 3 staff members in February 2024.

End of Project Monitoring

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the End of Project Monitoring information provided in respect of all awards granted for the 2022/23 financial year. 

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to note the information provided.

7.

Any Other Competent Business

Minutes:

Discussion took place in relation to encouraging further applications to the Fund. It was agreed that the Committee Manager and Senior Committee Assistant would liaise with the Council’s Communications team to publicise the Fund, and share information about recent awards from the Fund.
