Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

There were no apologies for absence received. 

Having noted that due to the current Elected Member vacancy in the Ward 1 constituency, the Campbeltown Common Good Fund was inquorate, the Governance Manager advised that it  was a consultation meeting. 

 

The Governance Manager further advised the remaining Members that following a decision made by the Council on Thursday, 19 May 2022, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 Members, and the decisions are recorded on that basis. 

.

Minutes:

The Minute of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund, held on 7 June 2023, was approved as a correct record. 

The Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following items of business, on that grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

Campbeltown Common Good Fund - Financial Statement

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the period. 

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to note the statement and balance of income available.

Campbeltown Common Good Fund Appications

Shopper Aide

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Shopper Aide.

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £5,000 to assist with the cost of a series of outings for their Elderberry clients.

Campbeltown Sea Cadets

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown Sea Cadets. 

 

Decision

 

Members agreed to award the group £2,000 to assist with the cost of replacing a shed used for the storage of clothes and equipment.

6.

End of Project Monitoring

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the End of Project Monitoring information provided in respect of all awards granted for the 2022/23 financial year, together with a request from Dalintober Primary School PTA to utilise surplus funding from a recent award for the purpose of assisting with the cost of enhancing the schools outdoor development plan to fund field trips for children within the Kintyre area. 

 

Decision

 

Members:-

 

1.    agreed to note the information provided;

 

2.    agreed to the request made by Dalintober Primary School PTA that the surplus funding of £501.11 be utilised for the purpose of assisting the with the cost of enhancing the schools outdoor development plan to fund field trips for children within the Kintyre area; and

 

3.    noted the ongoing work of Committee Services in ensuring that contact is made in respect of awards where the End of Project Monitoring information remains outstanding.

 

 

7.

Any Other Competent Business

Minutes:

Discussion was had on the current criteria of the fund, specifically in relation to the limit on the amount of funding requested.  Members agreed that this be increased to £3,000.

Date of Next Meeting

Minutes:

Members noted that the next meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund would take place on Wednesday, 6 December 2023. 

 

The Chair, Councillor Armour took the opportunity to note the contribution of former Councillor Donald Kelly, particularly in relation to his work in the South Kintyre area.
