Apologies

Minutes:

An apology for absence was intimated on behalf of Councillor Donald Kelly. 

 

Having noted the absence of Councillor Kelly, the Governance Manager advised that the Campbeltown Common Good Fund meeting was inquorate and as such was a consultation meeting. 

 

The Committee Manager further advised the remaining Trustees that following a decision made by Council at their meeting on Thursday, 19 May 2022, a delegation had been given to the Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support (or his representative) to determine applications in consultation with Ward 1 Members, and the decisions are recorded on that basis.

Minute of previous meeting of Campbeltown Common Good Fund held on 7 September 2022 pdf icon PDF 89 KB

Minutes:

The Minute of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund, held on 7 September 2022 was approved as a correct record.

The Common Good Fund resolved in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the press and public for the following items of business, on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

Campbeltown Common Good Fund - Financial Statement

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to a report detailing the current position of the investment transaction activity for the period. 

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed to note the statement and balance of income available.

Common Good Fund Applications

Campbeltown and District Badminton Association

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown and District Badminton Association.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed to award the group £1,000.00 to facilitate the running of the Argyll Cup competition.

Kintyre Group of the Scottish Women's Institute

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Kintyre Group of the Scottish Women’s Institute.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed to award the group £711.62 to assist the local Institutes of the SWI with the Biennial Show, which will take place in April 2024.

Campbeltown Community Council

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Campbeltown Community Council.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed:-

 

1.    to award the group £2,000.00 to aid the restoration of the coastal pathway between Trench Point and Slatyfarlan, but advised that this should not be drawn down until such time as the remaining funding has been secured; and

 

2.    that should an amendment to the project detail be necessary due to a change in circumstances, the Community Council should update Members of the Common Good Fund in this regard.

Dalintober Primary School PTA

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from Dalintober Primary School PTA.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed to award the group £2,000.00 as a contribution towards the Dalintober Primary 7 activities week.

Friends of Castlehill

Minutes:

Members gave consideration to the application from the Friends of Castlehill.

 

Decision:

 

Members agreed to award the group £2,371.47 for the purchase of sports equipment.

Any Other Competent Business

Minutes:

Discussion took place in respect of the next meeting of the Common Good Fund, with it being agreed that the Governance Manager would issue a social media post to raise awareness of the Fund and that an item would be added to the agenda for the next meeting to allow for consideration of the current criteria.

Trustees noted that the next meeting of the Campbeltown Common Good Fund would take place on Wednesday, 1 March 2023.
