The minute of the meeting of the Group held on 10th November 2010 was approved as a correct record.

Item 8 – Off-Shore Wind Developers CPP Consultation – Eileen Wilson advised that the event would take place in Kilmory on Wednesday 9th March.

BETTER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - LACPG COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TOOLKIT (Eileen Wilson)

Minutes:

Eileen Wilson and Laura Macdonald gave a presentation on the development of the Better Community Engagement Toolkit. Eileen set out the national context, advising that Argyll and Bute had been chosen as one of the ten local demonstration projects. Laura outlined the progress of the pilot within Argyll and Bute, advising that a resource pack is currently being developed and that training events would be held for the Local Area Community Planning Groups.

 

The Group:-

 

(a)    agreed that the training event for the Oban, Lorn and the Isles Group would be held on Monday 21st February, details to be advised; and

(b)    noted that a further progress report would be submitted to the March meeting.

PROPOSED EXTENSION OF BYELAW - CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC DRINK IN PUBLIC PLACES - OBAN pdf icon PDF 46 KB

Ken Macdonald advised the Group of the proposal to extend the boundaries of the existing byelaw prohibiting the consumption of alcoholic drink in public places in Oban. The full Council will be considering this at their March meeting.
