Minutes:

 

The Group heard from the Executive Director of Community Services on the budget consultation for Argyll and Bute Council .  The Executive Director advised that this was a long term approach with £40m to be saved over 7 years. The Executive Director explained where the Council’s budget was spent and gave an in depth view of each departments budget.

 

The Group asked questions on the NPDO expenditure, the shift between NHS and Social Services, ring fenced services, sharing services with other Councils, what services the Council should be providing and if these can be changed e.g. fortnightly bin collections, increase in charges and how the Council charge for their services, staff redundancies, the use of IT to cut down travel etc., items that could not be reduced eg, loans and information provision.

 

Decision

 

The Group noted the information provided and agreed that the ppoints raised will be fed into the Budget Process.

Minutes:

 

The Group heard from the IOD Project Officer on the Argyll and Bute Community Planning Partnership Strategic Needs Assessment.

 

She advised that the Community Planning Partnership had asked Partners for feedback and spoke on the issues that had been raised.  She further spoke on the 16 National Outcomes set by the Scottish Government and the six key priorities.  She asked the Group to think about how Housing, Education, Children older than age 5 and the Environment could be accounted for in the Single Outcome Agreement.  The IOD Project Officer advised that he draft outcomes would be considered by the Full Partnership in March and then submitted to the Scottish Government.

 

Decision

 

The Group noted the information provided and agreed to contact the IOD Project Officer with feedback, before 23rd January 2013.
