An apology for absence was intimated from Councillor Gordon Blair.

There were no declarations of interest intimated.

The Leader of the Council was unanimously appointed to Chair the Committee and the Committee resolved in terms of Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, to exclude the public for the following item of business on the grounds that it was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 respectively of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.

To interview persons in connection with appointment to Committee

Interviews were held over two days with applicants as to their interest in being appointed as an independent Chair of the Performance Review and Scrutiny Committee and as to the skills and attributes which they might bring to the Committee.

Decision

To appoint Ian MM Ross in accordance with the delegation given to the Committee.
