ELECT PROVOST OF THE COUNCIL Additional documents: Minutes: The Provost invited nominations
for the position of Provost of the Council. Motion To nominate Councillor Dougie
Philand to the position of Provost of the Council. Moved by Councillor Jim Lynch,
seconded by Councillor Audrey Forrest. Amendment The
Council agrees that Councillor Maurice Corry remains as Provost of Argyll and
Bute. Moved
by Councillor Robin Currie, seconded by Councillor Gary Mulvaney. As
the meeting was being held on a hybrid basis, the vote required to be taken by

roll call vote returned an equality of votes with 18 votes for the Motion and
18 votes for the Amendment. Decision The Head of Legal and Regulatory Support advised
that, in terms of Standing Order 11.4, as this was an appointment to a
political position the decision would require to be determined by Lot. Councillor
Dougie Philand, on cutting the cards, showed the highest card and was duly
elected as Provost of the Council. |

Councillor Dougie Philand assumed the Chair as Provost of the Council. The Provost recorded his thanks to Councillor Maurice Corry for his contribution over the previous 2 years as Provost of the Council. Councillor Maurice Corry recorded his congratulations to Councillor Dougie Philand in his election as Provost of the Council. |

The Provost ruled, and the
Council agreed to adjourn the meeting for 5 minutes at this point. The meeting reconvened at 11.50am
with all those present as per the sederunt. |

POLITICAL MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS All
Political management appointments including Depute Provost and Depute Leader
will become vacant and removal of existing
appointees will be with immediate effect. Replacements to be agreed at the Full Council meeting of 25th
April 2024. Additional documents: Minutes: The Council gave consideration to
the proposal that, other than the Provost and Leader positions elected at this
meeting, all Political management appointments, including Depute Provost and
Depute Leader will become vacant and removal
of existing appointees will be with immediate effect with replacements
to be agreed at the Full Council meeting of 25th April 2024. Decision The Council agreed that, other
