FREEDOM OF ARGYLL AND BUTE

Under Section 206 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Council will be asked to pass a resolution to admit Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart CVO, MBE, LLB WS, FSA Scot as an Honorary Freeman of Argyll and Bute in recognition of his many years of service to Argyll and Bute through his Lieutenancy work and other areas of activity.

The Council, at its meeting on Thursday 21 April 2022 unanimously resolved in terms of Section 206 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, to admit as Honorary Freeman of Argyll and Bute, Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart, CVO, MBE, LLB WS, FSA Scot in recognition of his many years of service to Argyll and Bute through his Lieutenancy work and other areas of activity.

 

In fulfilment of that resolution, the Council now granted the Freedom of Argyll and Bute which was conveyed by the Provost in the following terms:-

 

To Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart

CVO, MBE, LLB WS, FSA Scot

 

We, the Provost and Members of Argyll and Bute Council in recognition of your many years of service to Argyll and Bute through your Lieutenancy work and outstanding contribution to public service for the benefit of the environment, people and communities of Argyll and Bute do hereby, grant you the Freedom of Argyll and Bute. Given under the seal of the Council this Twenty-first day of April, Two Thousand and Twenty-two.

 

Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart, CVO, MBE, LLB WS, FSA Scot having accepted the scroll conveying the Freedom grant, the Provost on behalf of the Council, granted permission for Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart, CVO, MBE, LLB WS, FSA Scot to exercise the freedom.
