Report by Executive Director with responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Support

The Council considered a report which advised on the revised timescales for the anticipated new National Scheme of Community Councils (National Scheme) and the impact those now have on the decision of the Council on 30 September to conduct a full review of the Scheme prior to community council elections taking place on 20 October 2022.

Decision

The Council agreed to commence a phase one consultation based on proposals to review the current Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils in Argyll and Bute and that this is taken forward in accordance with the timescales and documents contained within Appendices 1 to 4 of the submitted report.
