Report by Special Projects and Quality Improvement Manager Minutes: This
report was previously considered at the 6 March 2018 Bute and Cowal Area Committee meeting. The report provided an update
on the on-going discussions between the Council, Kilfinan
Community Forest Company and Tilhill Forestry
regarding their use of a Council owned road for associated forestry activities.
The
report also advised on the proposal for housing from Fyne Homes on the Council
owned site adjacent to Tighnabruaich Primary School,
which is accessed by the Council owned road which feeds onto the A8003. Decision The
Committee: 1.
Noted the contents of the report and; 2. Noted
that there were no updates or changes to be added. (Ref:

Roads and Amenities Update PDF 165 KB Briefing note by Traffic and Development Manager Minutes: The
Traffic and Development Manager introduced a briefing note that highlighted the
background to the Strategic Timber Transport Scheme and the Argyll Timber
Transport Group. He also informed the Committee of the legal standing of the
Timber Transport Management plan associated with the UC33 Auchenlochan
backroad. The
Traffic and Development Manager advised the Committee of the following actions
which would be taken forward: ·
The
Forestry section of the UC33 would be included as part of the monthly
inspection of the A8003. ·
Additional
ad hoc inspections would be carried out by staff as and when they are in the
area. ·
Traffic
counts by vehicle type would be conducted once timber haulage commences. ·
Manual
surveys would be carried out by local staff to ensure compliance with the
Timber Transport Management Plan. Decision The
Committee: 1. Noted the contents of
the briefing paper. 2. Noted the actions being
carried out by officers and; 3. Agreed an update report
would be brought back to the June 2018 Bute and Cowal
Area Committee meeting. (Ref:
