CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982: APPLICATION FOR TAXI LICENCE (A AND L MCCANDLISH, HELENSBURGH)

Minutes:

The Chair welcomed everyone to the Hearing and asked that participants introduce themselves.  Thereafter he outlined the procedure that would be followed.

The Chair invited the Applicants to speak in support of their Application.

Applicant

Mr McCandlish thanked the Committee for bringing this Hearing forward and apologised that this situation had arose due to his negligence in not getting his application for renewal of his taxi licence in on time when it expired on 30 June 2012 resulting in him now having to apply for a new taxi licence.

As there were no objections to this Application the Chair invited Members to ask Mr and Mrs McCandlish questions.

Members’ Questions

Councillor Currie queried the expiry date of Mr and Mrs McCandlish’s previous taxi licence as the report indicated that this was 30 June 2009.  Mrs MacFadyen confirmed that this was a typographical error and that the licence had expired on 30 June 2012.

Decision

It was unanimously agreed to grant a Taxi Operator’s License to Mr and Mrs McCandlish and that this would be processed as soon as possible within the next 7 days.
