CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982: APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF A TAXI DRIVERS LICENCE: KRIS JOHN MCTAGGART, CAMPBELTOWN Report by Head of Governance and Law Minutes: The Senior Solicitor advised that Strathclyde Police had contacted the Licensing Office the previous afternoon to advise that they would be withdrawing their objection to this application. Their objection had been raised on the basis that they were unaware that the previously pending case had been disposed of prior to the applicants hearing in 2007 and that this had been taken into account when determining the application. The Head of Governance and Law advised that the outcome of this case had been reported in 2007 when the applicant had been granted his previous licence. There had been no further complaints since this and therefore in his view, there was no reason why the application should not be renewed. Decision Unanimously agreed to renew Mr McTaggart’s taxi driver’s licence for a further 3 year period. (Ref: Report by Head of Governance and Law dated 15 December 2010, submitted) |
