Minutes:
The Committee gave consideration
to a report setting out the proposed method for distribution of the charities
and trust funds in the Oban, Lorn and the Isles Area.
Decision
The Oban, Lorn
and the Isles Area Committee:
- Agreed to the proposed distribution as outlined in the report to
Kilmore and Kilbride, Miss Christina McKays
Trust, James McKechnies Trust, Miss Mary A McNivens Trust and Dugald
McPhail Memorial Fund.
- Agreed that the Archibald Dow Bequest, the John of Lorn Bequest and the Miss Agnes Angus Bequest be
discussed at a future Area Committee Business Day and then brought back to
the Area Committee for a decision.
- Agreed to ask that officers investigate the possibility of the
Coals for the Poor – Oban fund being granted to those that are facing fuel
poverty and use other sources of energy.
- Agreed that Live Argyll should submit a
proposal for how the McCaig Trust funds are
spent in advance of the monies being made available.
- Agreed that no monies should be granted from
either the Mrs Mellors Bequest or the MacDougall
Trust until the re-organisation of the charities is finalised.
- Agreed to request that the Miss M M
Cameron fund and Miss Flora Lucas Bequest be transferred to Bowmore Court.
- Agreed to ask that officers investigate the possibility of
including residents of Iona as potential receipts of the MacKinnon Ledigham Bequest.
