It was raised in the written update that additional details would be required on the specifics at these locations and that monitoring of time transport would be carried out when time is being extracted in significant quantities.

 

Paul Paterson, Kilfinan Community Council, intimated to the Forum that the community council would be seeking to litigate against the Council if the road traffic issues were not sorted out.

The Forum agreed to keep this item on the agenda.

Parking at the bottom of Shinty Brae had been investigated and only occurs when occupants of the properties have visitors.

 

No action had been taken at Kames to date.

 

A request to introduce a 30mph speed restriction at Millhouse would be forwarded to Asst. Network Manager, (NRSWA, Traffic and Development) for consideration.

 

Outcome

 

To note the frustration of the Forum at the lack of officer attendance and request that in future officers attend in person, or at a minimum, are available by either phone or video link.

speed/volume surveys have been carried out.

 

Outcome

Paul Paterson on behalf of Kilfinan Community Council expressed concerns regarding traffic management and would like Roads and Amenity Services to look at speeding, infrastructure, lights, ditches and road markings in the Tighnabruaich, Kames and Millhouse area.

Michaela Blair, on behalf of Kilfinan Community Council, raised concerns regarding appropriate signage, signs in the wrong place and sight lines being impeded. She requested flashing thirty signs and rumble strips be put in place.

 

Outcome

  1. Roads department will visit the sight to look at the signage, an additional repeater sign is also scheduled to be installed.
  2. Paul Farrell will see if any flashing thirty signs are available.
  3. It was agreed that all Community Councils in Cowal will receive email notification of traffic management notices in respect of Dunoon town centre.
