Written confirmation was provided by the Roads and Amenity Service that the TRO objection was unlikely to be removed and as such this would need to be a hearing by the Reporter.

Bus Bays at Queens Hall; Tudor Team Rooms and Morrisons

Revised signage requires to be erected and also modification to existing TRO/s to reflect use of bays by local buses only.

Parking Restrictions- Bus Bays at Queens Hall, Tudor Tearooms & Morrison’s.

The TRO will require to be amended to “local buses” only, with appropriate signage to stop tour coaches using these bays.

Kevin McIntosh informed the Group that the TRO at the Bus Bays at Queens Hall and an amendment to the TRO regarding the Tudor Tea Rooms and Morrisons were still progressing and that this process was lengthy and involved substantial resourcing.

Outcome

1. Cathleen Russell requested that Community Councils be added to the mailing list that receives notice of TRO’s and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTRO’s), it was noted that this request would go to Stuart Watson.

2. Councillor Blair requested that Elected Members be provided with a Roads and Amenities Staffing update by the Head of Roads and Amenity Services to ascertain if there was enough staff to carry out the work.

The Roads department are progressing this as a TRO and are currently dealing with any objections lodged re the parking proposals.  Again, if these cannot be satisfied there will be a hearing.

Tudor Tea Rooms and Morrisons

There is currently a perceived misuse of these bays by touring coaches. An amendment to the existing TRO would be required in order to make the bays enforceable and to ensure usage is by local buses only.
