Minutes:

Jimmy Bell, on behalf of Hunters Quay Community Council, requested that the Fountain Quay bus stop remain on the agenda due to concerns raised by local residents as to the lack of shelter in place.  He advised that he would pass on the update provided at the meeting to residents.

 

Debbie Donald, on behalf of Cairndow Community Council, advised that enquiries had been made as to whether a sign could be placed to prevent motorhomes parking overnight in the layby near the A83.  Roads had advised her that they could purchase their own sign but other attendees had been advised that this would be illegal.  It was agreed to check the policy regarding signage with Roads and Amenity Services.

The Group held a conversation regarding parking charges over the festive period and bus stops in the Sandhaven to Cothouse area.

 

Outcome

 

  1. Cathleen Russell sought clarification on what the Council’s policy is regarding the waiving of parking charges when certain events are taking place or at certain times of the year.

 

  1. Councillor Blair requested that bus operators be reminded that there is a bus stop between Sandhaven and Invereck and that the flooding issue at the Cot House bus stop be attended to.

Archie Reid, at request of Dunoon Community Council, raised an issue regarding parked vehicles on the paving slabs outside of the Argyll Hotel. It was noted that the roads department are aware of this and are currently in the process of resolving the situation.

 

Michaela Blair asked if there would be sufficient grit supplies for this coming winter. Paul Farrell responded that the Councils winter maintenance programme doesn’t start until November but he didn’t foresee any issues with grit supplies.
