Minutes:

The Area Community Planning Group were provided with an  informative presentation by Lorraine Paterson, Head of Adult Services West, regarding the Single Islands GP Model for Mull & Iona, providing information to the Group about recruitment challenges, contract and community concerns and well as cost implications. 

 

Lorraine responded to questions from the group regarding staffing numbers, the IT infrastructure and work planned to instil public confidence.

 

Decision

 

The Area Community Planning Group thanked Lorraine for the presentation, noted the information provided, specifically that the recruitment process had commenced on 10th August 2018.

Minutes:

The Group considered a briefing note that outlined the timetable for Area

Community Planning Action Plan items and the ongoing work to

determine how the actions would be progressed and presented to the Area Community Planning Group.

 

A change to the completion date of action 1 in the timetable was noted.

The Group held a conversation around the identification of appropriate sites in the Taynuilt and Connel areas for speed surveys to be conducted.

 

Decision

The Group:

1.    Noted the contents of the report

2.    Agreed the timetable for those items listed and note that those

currently not scheduled into an upcoming meeting would be when

an appropriate timescale has been agreed with those involved in

           the action; and

3.    Agreed to consult with Taynuilt and Connel Community Councils to ascertain the most appropriate areas for speed surveys to be carried out.

The Group gave consideration to the timetable for the Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands Community Action Plan which was signed off in February 2018.

 

Discussion took place around the action relating to community transport in Ardfern.  It was noted that the Council’s Community Transport Officer had indicated that there was no community transport provision available in that area. 

 

Decision

 

The Group:-

 

  1. Agreed the timetable for those items listed;
  2. Noted that those items currently not scheduled into an upcoming meeting would be included when an appropriate timescale had been agreed with those involved in the action; and
  3. Agreed that the Chair and the Community Development Officer would arrange to meet with the local community to investigate possible solutions to the transport issue in Ardfern.
