Councillor Marshall raised a query regarding the contracting of removal of Japanese knotweed in the area. The Area Committee Manager agreed to pass on this query to the Head of Roads and Amenity Services.

Brian Chennell queried whether works to the Dunoon
5-a-side pitches could be resolved by April 2017, ahead of the start of the
football season. The Chair, Councillor
McNaughton agreed to seek clarity on the procedural issues in the hope that
this could be brought to the Council meeting in February.
Councillor Breslin asked whether
there was any intention to put benches on the pier. The Area Committee Manager agreed to pass the
enquiry to the Council’s Head of Roads and Amenity Services.
Councillor Breslin enquired about
Administration plans to deal with derelict buildings. The Chair requested that Members forward a
list of buildings which he could address with relevant officers. Councillor Breslin
suggested that the list could be found in the budget paper put forward in
February 2016.
Councillor MacIntyre enquired who
receives the bill for pest extermination.
The Area Committee Manager agreed to put this question to the
Environmental Services Manager and feedback the response to Councillor MacIntyre by email.
Councillor Marshall queried the arrangements for hire of the
Pier Building. The Area Committee
Manager agreed to raise this matter with the Council’s Marine Operations
Manager and feedback the response to Members by email.

Councillor MacIntyre asked if an update could be given to why there are no functioning Christmas lights in Rothesay. The Contracts Manager advised that an update on the Christmas lights in Rothesay and Dunoon would be sent to Members by close of play. Councillor Walsh confirmed that he asked for a paper to go to the Policy and Resources Committee on this issue.

Kenny Mathieson provided suggestions on the recent
consultation on the Bute and Cowal parking proposals.
Mr Mathieson was advised that these proposals would be
passed to Roads and Amenities services.
Brian Chennel provided the
Committee with four written questions on the Dunoon
5-a-Side pitches.
Mr Chennel was advised that this
matter is currently under consideration by the Council and that his written
questions would be forwarded to the relevant Council officer.
The Area Committee Manager read out a public question
submitted via email by Ian Shaw regarding use of school facilities for licenced
events.
The Area Committee Manager advised the Committee that this
was possible and that a response would be sent to Mr Shaw.

Concerns were raised by members of the public regarding the
current ferry services in Dunoon particularly in
relation to the issue of harbour charges.
It was noted that this item would be dealt with at item 11
of the agenda.
