The forum gave consideration to an update from Sgt Richmond outlining the ongoing works of the local police unit, which included the Christmas Drink Drive campaign and maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure that they are road worthy in all weather.  Discussion took place in respect of areas where speeding vehicles cause concern; the number of road accidents in the Cairndow area and the local policing plan including a number of efficiencies.

The Forum agreed to note the update.

Minutes:

Sergeant John Forrest, provided the Forum with a statistical breakdown from Police Scotland, with the following points noted:

·         December and January have been busy months with 63 roads related incidents most were weather related.

·         Police Scotland responded to the Landslide incident which involved two vehicles.

·         Recent drink driving campaign had resulted in two drivers being charged.

·         Six reports for speeding were reported to the Procurator Fiscal with twelve incidents of speeding overall.

·         Six reported incidents of careless driving.
