Minutes:
The Council has a statutory responsibility to deliver an Animal Health and Welfare service, and this is undertaken by competent and authorised Officers within the Council’s Regulatory Services. The Scottish Government have implemented a Framework Document which specifies the component parts of an Animal Health and Welfare service, and prescribed minimum best practice and good practice standards upon which local authorities are assessed. A report detailing the Animal Health and Welfare Plan for 2013/2014 to meet the Framework Agreement was before the Committee for consideration.
The Committee also heard a presentation on the Animal Health and Welfare service provided by the Council.
Decision
1. Thanked the Animal Health and Welfare Officer for his full and comprehensive presentation; and
2. Noted the work of the Animal Health and Welfare service and its status against the Framework and approved the Service Plan for 2013/2014.
