Minutes:

Consideration was given to an update which included information on the ongoing work of the Service and provided information on the launch of the second phase of the ‘Don’t Be That Guy’ campaign; the ‘Not At Home’ protocol which launched locally on the 9th of January 2023; the Distress Brief Intervention which is currently being rolled out throughout Argyll and Bute; the Rural Watch extension of the Neighbourhood Watch Scotland movement and the Police Youth Volunteer programme.

 

Discussion took place in relation to Youth Volunteers and PC Barron advised that the programme has been very popular with it being over prescribed, members of the Group enquired when the Youth Volunteers would be available to help with community activities and events.

 

Decision

 

The Helensburgh and Lomond Area Community Planning Group considered and noted the information provided.

Minutes:

Consideration was given to an update which included information on the ongoing work of the Service and provided information on staff resourcing; the relaunch of the Youth Volunteer (PSYV) programme; the newly established Community Policing Team; the ‘Don’t be that guy’ campaign and the launch of the Dementia Safeguarding Tag.

 

PC Evans highlighted that Argyll and Bute will be the first area in Scotland to use the Dementia Safeguarding Tag and added that this will bring positive resilience to people.

 

Sarah highlighted the ‘Don’t be that guy’ campaign and asked if more information could be provided at a future meeting.

 

Discussion took place in regards to Youth Volunteers and Fiona advised that any youth volunteers or community groups are welcome at Friends of Hermitage Park.

 

Action – ‘Don’t be that Guy’ to be added as a possible item for a future meeting.

Minutes:

Having noted that there was no one in attendance from Police Scotland, the group gave consideration to a written update which included information on the ongoing work of the Service; staff resourcing; a number of initiatives including Keep Safe – Ukranian Support and Doorstep Crime Guidance.  Information in relation to road safety, youth engagement and suicide prevention was also provided.  The report also outlined the details of this year’s annual Police survey.

 

The Chair advised that any questions or comments for Police Scotland in relation to the update should be forwarded to the Committee Manager, who would feed these back and request an update at the next meeting.
