Issue - meetings

The Group considered an update from Gill Simpson, Helensburgh Community Hub, which provided an overview of the work which had been carried out during the Hub’s first six months of operation. Information was provided in relation to the Hub’s income generation; partnership working; the use of the main hall by a wide range of clubs and organisations; the success of the Hub’s launch day; and the development of the ‘Book Nook @ The Hub’. Gill also noted that there was a youth group available in Helensburgh Community Hub for children up to Secondary 4, and this may be of assistance with earlier discussions around youth disorder and diversionary options.

Gill highlighted activities taking place around the ‘Kindness creates Connection creates Community’ theme for 2022 and also noted that a Welcome Event would be held in March in advance of the Helensburgh Community Hub AGM in May. She advised that she hoped that the use of the Hub as a polling station on 5^th May 2022 would highlight the facility to more people locally.
