Update by Helensburgh Community Council

The Group considered a written update from Helensburgh Community Council which provided an overview of their activities and local issues, covering the period August 2019 to May 2021.

Sarah Davies advised that a further written update providing information around the Community Council’s recent activities would be circulated to the Group following the meeting. Sarah confirmed that Webinars would be continuing via Zoom, however it was hoped that face-to-face activities could resume soon. Sarah also provided information around a focus on environmental issues on the run up to the COP26 Climate Change Conference; some problems caused by an increase in visitors to the area during the Summer; discussions with Council officers around street-cleaning, bins, and parking issues; consultations with Taylor Wimpey around proposed building works; the Helensburgh Summer Festival; and the purchase of the old Visitors Book of Helensburgh.

Decision

The Helensburgh and Lomond Area Community Planning Group considered and noted the information provided.
