Presentation by Amie Williams, Scottish Natural Heritage

Amie Williams of Scottish Natural Heritage gave the group an informative presentation on Marine Protected Area Management and Monitoring (MarPAMM). Ms Williams provided a brief overview of the project and the work packages that were being undertaken.

Ms Williams provided details of existing Marine Protected Areas in the Argyll region and noted that work was being carried out to raise the profile of the project and ensure that people had a better understanding of what the project was hoping to accomplish and what Marine Protected Areas could be used for. The Community Planning Officer advised that when further workshops in the local community had been arranged she would be happy to disseminate this information to partners to encourage attendance.

The Chair thanked Ms Williams for her presentation.

The Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands Area Community Planning Group noted the information provided in the presentation.
