Decision Maker: Argyll and Bute Council
Decision status: For Determination
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
The Council gave consideration to a report setting out a coordinated, place based policy approach to addressing Argyll and Bute’s declared Housing Emergency, while continuing to support a sustainable and resilient visitor economy.
Decision
The Council agreed that the Council use the submitted paper as the basis for developing an engagement strategy which should contain clear and consistent messaging that articulates the reasoning behind these combined actions in order to:
1. allow Elected Members, businesses and communities to understand the overarching strategy that is being promoted and the inter-dependent relationship between tourism and housing;
2. ensure strategic messaging is coherent, consistent and clearly explained in plain language; and
3. gather and evaluate the responses to the separate consultations in a manner that ensures the Council and stakeholders understand how these inter-relate in any final formulation of policy approaches adopted by the Council.
