Decision details

The Council gave consideration to a report providing an update on the challenges regarding the Ukranian sponsorship scheme and the national review that was underway and led by the Scottish Government and COSLA.  The report also provided an update on how the sponsorship scheme were operating within Argyll and Bute and the support provided locally to Ukrainian Displaced Persons.

Decision

The Council –

1.    noted the national position as set out in section 4 of the submitted report;

2.    agreed that the Council should, through COSLA and other representative bodies, and on and individual basis, if and when appropriate, make representations for improvements to the Ukrainian sponsorship schemes; and

3.    noted the current position in relation to Argyll and Bute as set out in section 5 of the submitted report.
