We had a fantastic weekend at The Lodge with our closest family and friends. The actual day of the wedding was perfect, the sun shone, the champagne flowed and we had our wish granted and were able to be outside before and after the ceremony and exchanged our vows overlooking Loch Goil and the Argyll hills and forest. We signed the register in the magical Treehouse above the Loch. Our registrar, Stephanie was wonderful from before the wedding, with lots of suggestions on how to personalise our ceremony, to the actual day when she put everyone at ease, and smiled throughout the afternoon. We incorporated a handfasting, all of us concluded the marriage by drinking from a quaich, and both mums read poems as part of the ceremony. My eldest daughter gave me away, the younger one was our witness and Martins son tied the knot in the handfasting. Martin and I met when we were 15 and went our separate ways. I moved to the USA to study and martin began work here. Being married here was like closing he circle for us.
Alice and The staff at the Lodge were wonderful and looked after us all like we were part of their family. Having exclusive use of the Lodge for the weekend was like having our own country house. For us it was very important to be married outside beside the water and as we have a boat moored in Loch Goil it made it even more personal to get married here in Argyll rather than abroad. The bonus was having a glorious sunny September day - with no wind and even the Midgies had gone!

We had the most perfect day and ceremony on a private beach in Crear.
The whole occasion was beautifully managed and professional throughout.
The location and scenery made it all the more magical and memorable.
I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone heading to that area to get married
