DESIGN CERTIFICATE FOR THE ERECTION OF SCAFFOLDING

I/We hereby certify that in support of my/our application for permission to erect scaffolding on, or projecting over, the road at:

the scaffolding has been designed in accordance with the recommendations of the current edition of British Standard Code of Practice, BS 5973.
State whether scaffolding is sheated or unsheated

I/We also certify that the scaffolding will be adequately supported on firm ground of the required bearing capacity, or otherwise adequately supported.

A completed Certificate of Completion of Erection (Form TOR4) should be submitted to the council, prior to the scaffolding being used. This can be attached below:

Note
  1. Consultation with The Council at an early stage in the preparations is recommended, particularly where scaffolding is of a complex nature or is sited at locations which are subject to heavy pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic.
  2. A Design Certificate will only be accepted if it is signed by a suitably qualified person.
  3. Where tubes and fittings other than steel are to be used (e.g. aluminium or timber) or proprietary systems, full details are to be given, with calculations or Test Certificates, where required, to show they are equivalent to scaffolding designed and erected in accordance with British Standard BS 5973: Section 4.
  4. Fee Information -  £73.00 per 4 weeks. The fee will only be collected once the permit has been approved If you need more time please contact us on 01546 605514, There is a one off payment  of £31.00 plus £13.00 per week.
Declaration

I/we confirm we have read the document TOR2 and agree to comply with the conditions contained therein.

A separate application is required to be made to Argyll and Bute Council for permission to deposit a skip on the road.
