Early Learning and Childcare
IS YOUR CHILD ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDED EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE?
The number of funded hours of Early Learning and Childcare for children aged three and four is up to 1140 hours per year. Some two year olds will also receive this full entitlement.
Children born between 1st March 2020 and 28th February 2021 are eligible for funded early learning and childcare in the academic year starting August 2023, start date depending on their third birthday.
From August 2023 children who will turn 5 between the 2nd day of the school year in August and the end of February, are entitled to funded childcare if their parent/carer wishes. Parent/carers can request an additional year of funded ELC during Primary One registration week on 16th-20th January 2023.

If you have a complaint about your child’s Early Learning and Childcare talk it over with the Head Teacher, Manager or Childminder. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction then contact the Early Years Team on 01369 704000 and they will discuss the matter with you, advise you on your options and if appropriate, where you should direct your complaint.
