How to borrow eBooks

Visit live Argyll's eBook library

You need to be a library member to borrow eBooks, and you will need your library card number and PIN number to log in and borrow eBooks

If you are not already a library member, you can join online here. If you are already a member but don’t know your PIN contact your local library.

Once you are logged into the eBook library you can search for and download up to 4 books at a time, put up to 4 books on hold to get an email notification when they become available, and get access to hundreds more out-of-copyright titles in addition to your normal checkout limit.

The eBook Library help pages are available to help you out with borrowing and returning your titles.

  • All eBooks and audiobooks are automatically returned to the library at the end of your loan period - meaning they will be removed from your device, and you never need to worry about late returns or charges.
  • If you want to keep an EBook or audiobook for longer than your loan period, look out for the "Request again" button appearing 3 days your loan expires - this lets you request to borrow the book again (if it is available).

To be eligible to use this service you must be over the age of 18 and permanently live, work or study in Argyll and Bute. You will need a library card and your PIN.
