CIVIC GOVERNMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 1982 - REVIEW OF TAXI FARE SCALES
The taxi fares were last reviewed in 2021/2022 when it was agreed to increase fares at that time by 15%. This decision took effect from 22 April 2022.
The licensing authority must fix scales for the fares and other charges within 18 months beginning with the date on which the scales came into effect (i.e. 22 April 2022)
We are therefore seeking feedback from taxi operators and representatives of taxi operators in the area about whether taxi fares and/or other charges should be altered or remain at the same rates. When responding, if you are indicating that fares should be altered, please detail what changes you consider should be made to the fares and/or other charges and the reasons for requesting it.
Please email us your views at licensing@argyll-bute.gov.uk by 29 May 2023.
If you do not have access to e-mail then you can still submit your views by letter to the Head of Legal and Regulatory Support, Argyll and Bute Council, Kilmory, Lochgilphead, Argyll PA31 8RT. If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact the licensing section on 01546 604198.
Following this consultation stage the licensing authority must review the existing scales and publish the proposed scales, proposing a date when the proposed scales shall come into effect and consider any representations received following this publication.
