Helensburgh Coastal Flood Study
Consultation background
The study has identified five areas that could possibly benefit from flood protection works, these lie between the Royal Northern Yacht Club at Rhu and Craigendoran.
For each of these areas a short list of three possible solutions has been developed. These short listed items were presented at a public event held at Helensburgh Civic Centre on Tuesday 30 April 2019.
Further to the April consultation, an appraisal process took place to determine the preferred option for each section of frontage. The preferred options were presented at a public event held at the Helensburgh and Civic Centre on Tuesday 25 June 2019.
We are now looking for public comments on the preferred options prior to the study being submitted for council approval and sent to SEPA by late summer 2019.
The process now moves on to identifying the preferred option for each area. It is hoped to have this completed for the beginning of June. An event will be held at that time to allow public comment, prior to the options being approved by the Council and submitted for consideration by SEPA.
