Advertising and Signage Policy Consultation

This consultation is now closed. There were no changes made to the policy as a result of the consultation. A report which sets out in summary the results of the consultation can be found below.

Two different pieces of legislation govern what signs are and are not allowed – the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1992 and the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984. The council’s new policy combines these key pieces of legislation and, within the limited scope for manoeuvre the law offers – establishes Argyll and Bute-specific guidance.

We are looking for your views on the draft policy.

The feedback on the draft will inform the final policy which the Planning, Protective Services and Licensing (PPSL) Committee will consider later in the year.

The consultation will run from 16th June to 28th July 2017.
