Community Council Elections took place for all Community Councils within the Argyll and Bute Area in March/April 2018. The formal Notice of Election was advertised locally week beginning 5 March 2018. Nomination Packs were available from week beginning 5 March from local Customer Service points, on the Councils website and from the Returning Officer, Kilmory, Lochgilphead PA31 8RT.
The Nomination period ran from Tuesday 6 March to Thursday 22 March 2018 (closing date). Forms were required to be lodged with the Returning Officer by no later than 4.00pm on Thursday 22 March 2018.

There are currently 56 Community Councils within Argyll and Bute, covering every geographical area from Cardross in the east to the islands in the west.
If a contest is required, voting will be by postal votes, with voting papers issued from Friday 13 April 2018. Election day, and the final day for returning postal votes, is Thursday 26 April 2018.
The closing date for nominations was 22 March 2018. If a Community Council received less nominations than there were vacancies a poll (voting) does not need to take place. The Notices of Uncontested Elections lists all the Community Councils and Candidates for whom polling does not need to take place. On 26 April 2018, those Candidates will formally become Community Councillors for their local Community Council. Click on the areas below to view the details of the successful candidates.

The Notice of Poll provides the names and addresses of the candidates who stood for election.
A number of Community Councils remain inquorate and a further by-election process will be undertaken for these on 28 June 2018.
