Campbeltown THI Training Programme

From 2009 to 2013 a comprehensive programme of training events and complimentary initiatives was delivered via the THI training programme.

Traditional skills training was provided to upskill local contractors, building professionals and Local Authority staff. These one and two day training courses were delivered by specialist training providers in Campbeltown. Fourteen courses were run with over 150 persons attending. Feedback was very positive.

To encourage the local community to participate in the management of their heritage, over 30 events, training courses and complementary initiatives were delivered, involving over 1400 home owners, community group members and local school children.  Sessions ranged from home owner maintenance and repair to a free gutter clearance programme; to archaeology and social history.

The programme was funded by Argyll & the Islands LEADER, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Argyll & Bute Council.
