A pontiflex is a man on the highest council of priests in Ancient Rome.\n\n\n<h2>About the artist<\/h2>\n\n\nCharles Mitchell, also known as Chuck Mitchell (1939-1966), studied printed textiles and lectured at Glasgow School of Art. He worked in a variety of media, and his work often had a fantastic, highly imaginative element.
