About the artist
William Scott RSA (Born Dumfriesshire, 1935-2012), known as Bill Scott, studied at Edinburgh College of Art and Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was a sculptor, working in metal and wood. He was head of the school of sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, 1990 97 and was appointed professor in 1994. His work often uses figuration to consider ideas of personal and public space.
