About the artist
James Downie Robertson MBE RSW RSA (born Cowdenbeath, 1931 2010) studied and taught at Glasgow School of Art. Robertson is a landscape artist whose paintings capture mood and his own intepretation of landscape rather than tradional interpretation. He has had a huge impact on Scottish Art, both through his practice and as a senior lecturer at Glasgow School of Art.
