About the artwork
Embroidered wool striped circular shape on horizontal striped bands on a black background. When the colours of the yarn are juxtapositioned in the circular shape it fights the strong bands running horizontally behind it. The subtelty of the colour choice is allied to the black background giving the embroidery a restful quality even though it is a fairly large work. The use of negative space plays an important part in this textile piece.
