Home Argyll is your online guide for housing options throughout the area.
Many people choose to rent when they first move here. There is a selection of rental agencies and estate agents who deal with property letting throughout the area. You can find a list of them below.
Some people choose to rent out their property privately. The best place to see these are on local notice boards, in shops or on sites such as Facebook and Gumtree. You might want to put up your own advert if you are looking for a place to stay.
If you want to buy, there is a great choice of family homes, flats, cottages and rural properties. There are plots of land for sale if you are interested in building your own home. Again, refer to the list of estate agents for the local offer or simply visit well-known sites such as Rightmove, S1 Homes and Zoopla. The council website can provide you with advice on gaining planning permission.
Housing is more plentiful in some areas than others. Oban for example is a very popular place to live, so there is currently less available housing stock. However, there are plans for new housing developments. New homes are also being built right now in Helensburgh. Businesses looking for development opportunities should contact Highlands and Islands Enterprise or check the council’s property for sale page.
