It’s everyone’s job to make sure children are safe from harm. Anyone who wants to tell the child protection team about concerns for a child or young person should call them on 01546 605517. If you believe someone is in imminent danger, always alert the police on 999.
Argyll and Bute residents are urged to play their part in protecting children and young people from harm.
Argyll & Bute Child Protection Committee is working to highlight the issues surrounding child sexual exploitation; encouraging everyone to think, spot the signs and speak out against abuse and adopt a zero tolerance to adults developing inappropriate relationships with children. But we cannot succeed without the support of people across our local communities.
We want residents to tell our child protection team if they are concerned about a child who may be at risk. It is part of a campaign to educate and inform parents, young people themselves and the wider public, on children at risk of child sexual exploitation.
Information leaflets on child sexual exploitation are available to download below. They outline what child sexual exploitation is, the signs to look out for and how to avoid it happening, and includes useful links to advice from other organisations such as the NSPCC.
