West of Scotland Child Protection Procedures
Workshop Aims:
On the 13th December 2010 the Scottish Government launched the National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland.
In light of changes to national guidance interagency child protection procedures have been updated and revised. These West of Scotland Child Protection Procedures supercede any previous interagency Argyll & Bute procedures and are available as a web based document at
http://www.online-procedures.co.uk/westofscotland/
An accompanying knowledge and understanding check has been developed to confirm practitioners understanding of the procedures, and there is an expectation from all agencies that key staff working with children & families are confident and competent to use these procedures.
If practitioners want to work through the knowledge and understating check independently and print off the certificates available on the website, they can do this by following the link in the last paragraph on the West of Scotland procedures home page. However the Child Protection Committee is keen to support staff though this process and these sessions are designed to offer dedicated time and support for those that wish it. Please discuss your preferred option with your child protection lead or line manager.
