Roads and Pavements

We look after 2300km of roads in Argyll and Bute ranging from key 'A' class routes to unclassified roads serving single houses. 40% of our roads are located on islands.   We have a responsibility to look after our transport network during adverse weather conditions, such as snow or flooding.

We also look after the street lights and car parks, and the administration of the roads and pavements of Argyll and Bute, including the List of public roads.

Bear Scotland manage the Trunk Roads in Argyll and Bute on behalf of the Scottish Government.
