Rothesay Pavilion
This truly iconic building, opened in 1938, sits in an unparalleled position at the north west end of Rothesay’s famous Victorian Esplanade, commanding unsurpassed views of Rothesay Bay, and across to the Cowal Peninsula, and the Renfrewshire and Ayrshire coasts.
Rothesay Pavilion’s national architectural importance has been recognised by the award of Grade “A” listing, and the building still retains many original Art Deco features.
Built in the era of the “Big Band Sound”, Rothesay Pavilion was specifically designed to fulfil a wide range of functions – from dancing to conferences, variety shows to flower shows, weddings, meetings and a host of sports activities and exhibitions of all types.
Rothesay Pavilion continues to provide a key role at the heart of the island community, offering a wide range of facilities from the flexible main hall (up to 1,000 capacity), as well as smaller rooms for meetings, seminars and training courses.
