Interagency Child Protection Training

Everyone working with children, young people and their families in Argyll & Bute are encouraged to see the importance of child protection training to support their practice.

Whether staff or volunteers have limited or extensive involvement with children and young people, the aim is always to ensure that practical skills are up-to-date and fit for purpose.

This includes being alert to the signs that children may need help or protection, knowing what steps to take and demonstrating what action has been taken in accordance with appropriate child protection policies and procedures.

Single Agency Training

Individual agencies are responsible for ensuring their staff are confident and competent to carry out their child protection responsibilities. Speak to your line manager to see what training programmes are available.

Multi Agency Training

Argyll & Bute CPC has developed a range of courses that are delivered on a multi-agency basis.  This training programme has been designed to complement the training that is delivered on a single agency basis.  The courses cover subjects that are relevant to staff across agencies.  The training provides staff with an opportunity to meet, learn from each other, and share experiences and good practice.

All courses are free to agencies delivering services within Argyll & Bute.  For more information on multi-agency training, including a full list of courses available and details on how to access these courses, see the training calendar.

Self Learning Pack

Argyll & Bute CPC expects that all staff and volunteers working with children and young people have, as a minimum, foundation knowledge of child protection.

Our self learning pack offers essential information on child protection issues for those who are waiting to start their training with us, or who only require basic level information.
