Reservoir Safety

Large reservoirs are required to be registered under the Reservoirs Act 1975.  The legislation requires that undertakers of registered reservoirs ensure that dams are regularly inspected by independent professional engineers and essential maintenance work is undertaken.  Details of raised reservoirs are held on a register which can be downloaded from the Environmental Health Registers page.
