Argyll and Bute Local Access Forum

Access forum members photoArgyll and Bute Local Access Forum  was established in the summer of 2006. The Forum has a pivotal role to play in helping with the future development and management of outdoor access in Argyll and Bute.

 

The Forum is an independent strategic body with an operational remit that covers the whole of Argyll with the exception of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

 

Membership of the Forum comprises of representatives from land managers, access users, public agencies and communities. Click here to see a list of the Forum Members.

imageUnder the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 the Forum has a statutory duty to advise Argyll and Bute Council and any other interested body on matters relating to outdoor access within its area of operation.

 


The Forum meets 3 times a year at various locations throughout Argyll. The last meeting of the forum was on the 7th of December and the minutes will be available shortly.

Guest speaker at the AGM Guy Wedderburn Chairman of Falkirk Local Access Forum and Manager of Callendar Estates, treated the Forum to a masterclass in countryside access management. See Chairmans report above.
